Wanna see how one ring became the catalyst for two different jewelry expressions? As you might remember from an earlier post, Jessica came into our shop to have a diamond cut out of her grandmother’s ring in order to use it in her engagement ring. She was unsure of what she wanted to do with the original ring and thought scrapping the metal might be her only option. Instead, we helped her turn the shoulders of the ring into a beautiful pair of earrings.
Since making these earrings, Jessica’s boyfriend, (now fiancé) Morgan, began designing an engagement ring that he could surprise her with. While working on the design, we tapped into Jessica’s Pinterest boards to find out what types of designs she was drawn to and the rings she had been dreaming of. It became clear that a design that best suited Jessica’s taste was a Platinum ring with a diamond halo around her grandmother’s diamond, beautifully weaving her past into her future.
Here is the design evolution from a 1950’s two tone ring to a new platinum octagon halo with french set diamonds. From grandmother to granddaughter, we hope this new heirloom quality ring is something that Jessica and Morgan can pass down to their grandchildren. Best of luck you two!
